The value of memory: the everyday and audacious struggle of a group of Guatemalans relatives of disappeared people during the military dictatorship.

Fearless is the result of an extraordinary intuition. In 2012 the Inter-American Court of Human Rights condemned for the first time the State of Guatemala for enforced disappearances - more than 45.000 during they years of the civil war (1960-1996). The group of relatives of the disappeared people by the Guatemalan army claimed, requested and obtained, among other measures of compensation, the production of a documentary film by the State. Until now the State has refused to obey this sentence -and produce the documentary- but the relatives did not want to wait for longer: "Fearless" is their documentary. Convinced that nowadays films are also an important instrument of culture, history and memory they were deeply involved in the production of this film. Together with director Claudio Zulian they explored the languages of cinema, television, drawing and performance to illuminate in a new way the political and human aspects of this long struggle for justice and memory.
