Commissioned by the Cultural Area of the Bethune city hall, France.
Partir is the result of various months of meetings and encounters with the inhabitants of a building on the Avenue du Mont Liébaut in Béthune. The building was destined to be demolished as part of an urban renewal project for the neighbourhood.
During the meetings, which took place at the participant’s homes, all the various dimensions of being forced to leave were evoked. Desires, solidarities, difficulties, conflicts and hopes weave together the words of the videoinstallation, in which the soundtrack is the summary of the conversations held. Their decision to appear in their own homes was also a challenge towards this uncertain future to which they demand an improvement on the way the inhabitants of the building of the Avenue du Mont Liébaut have managed to give to their daily lives.
